Learning About Satellites

 Hey there,

This week I learnt about space. Although technically I was mainly taught about satellites, however there’s no complaints from me :)

I’ve never really thought of learning about space which means I learnt a lot this week but I’ll only tell you 3 of them-

  1. Mass means the amount of matter that an object contains
  2. A composite is any material that is made by combining 2 other materials
  3. Naomi Altman is the Avionics manager at the Rocket Lab in Auckland Office.

Our next step was to turn these key words..

Satellite

Mass

Law

Ingines

Composite

Launch

Software

Joules

Space

Rutherford

Rocket

Payloads

Fibres

Sideways

Turbopumps

Orbit

Stage

Altitude

Electron

Oxygen

Gravity

Earth

NASA

Azimuth

Direction

… from a book we had to read that was mostly about satellites and turn it into this:

To be honest this was kind of fun. Who knows? I might even consider myself learning more about space. Can you tell me anything you’ve learnt about space in the past? Thanks for keeping up with me, see you all next time!

Learning About The Rowing Olympics

 Hi,

Because of the Olympics happening, in my hurumanu 1, the subject for my group to read and research about is the Rowing.

One of our jobs is to write words and sentences outside a cloud like this one:

This is just a photo of me proving that I did this part of my work :)

(This was actually a quiz about the games in the Olympics and so if you want to play it just click on this link)

This is all I have to post for today (I think), what is your favourite sport/s? Take care!

Learning about Sir Edmund Hillary

 Good morning, afternoon or evening,

I learnt about Sir Edmund Hillary in hurumanu 1. Like how he was a mountaineer but before that he was a beekeeper, that he learnt his climbing skills in the Southern Alps and many more info but to be honest I knew literally nothing about him for example I didn’t even know he was a someone who climbed to the very top of Mt. Everest.

My job was to create a cloud of words describing him, climbing and some specific words in the resources we had been given and so here is an image of mine:

You’ve made it to the end of the post (but unfortunately I have no prize for you). Thank you for reading this post, do you know anything else about him or did you only learn about him today?

Q&As about Kate Sheppard

 Kia ora,

As some may know Kate Sheppard, while others know her as the girl who gave New Zealand women to have the opportunity to vote.

A few weeks ago, we were told to make a post of a NZ hero (by now you probably know who I’m doing). After choosing our hero, the instructions informed us to answer some questions.

To make this blog post a tiny bit entertaining, I made my Q&As on google slides

I hope this was a interesting for you even if it’s just a little bit. But before you leave I just want to ask, who do you believe is a hero? Thank you for staying this long, take care!

Weird questions that are related to the Treaty of Waitangi

Ohayo gozaimasu,

Today in hurumanu 1, we are currently answering questions that are quite confusing but still make sense. I had finished my work with the help of my buddies, Lydia and Sophia.
The questions were....

What are more unusual questions that are related to the Treaty of Waitangi would you like my buddies and I to answer? Thank you for reading my post.
